I purchased this slide catch for my P229 so my thumb would not rest on the full size slide catch and keep the slide from locking back on an empty mag. I have yet to shoot it but gripping the firearm, I can already tell it will be an improvement. The new slide catch did require some minor fitting to function properly but it was an easy fix. Thus is my first time ordering from Top Gun Supply. The customer service was exceptional. I appreciate the personal thank you from Brad on my invoice. Ok, I’ll admit it. I have gorilla hands. Xl glove are often still tight. The problem is that my thumbs ride the slide release lever - mostly preventing slide lock. I just installed the p224 slide release lever on my P226 and P229 and it’s great! The lever is smaller and tighter to the frame so now my huge thumb doesn’t interfere with it doing it’s job when the mag runs dry. It’s small, but not too small. I can still easily push it up for a manual slide lock.

I bought this release for my P226 extreme. It drops right in and is definitely an upgrade from the larger stock release. I did have to emery’s cloth a very small bit of the grip so it wouldn’t catch but other than that 100%

Excellent fit and finish. Installed this on my M11-A1 as I am notorious for riding the slide catch lever. Couldn't be happier. I can still maintain dropping the slide if I need to with this one. This works perfectly on my Sig226. I have the G10 grip and dremelled out a 2-3mm notch for the slide catch [forward of the existing notch on the grip].

For anyone that owns a P226 or P229 that has ever had problems with their thumb accidentally resting on the OEM slide catch lever and thus preventing the slide from locking back after the last round, this smaller slide catch lever is a perfect replacement. The replacement is very easy (do a youtube search). Even though it officially lists this part for the P224, P229CA, and LEGION, it works fine in my P226 and P229.

I bought two of these, one for a 229 and one for a 226. In both cases it worked as expected. My high thumb grip was preventing the slide for locking open on an empty magazine because I was riding the slide release. This part fixes that issue. Now, my slide locks open on an empty magazine without changing my grip. I did have to modify my G-10 grips to work with these, but it was minimal and easily done with a file.

I put this catch lever on my P229 Combat because I carry this pistol IWB and the original slide catch sticks out pretty far. I’m pleased with it; works well and is tiny compared to the original, but with the cross-hatch checkering it is still very tactile.

This is a great addition to any Sig P series pistol. It eliminates the issue that some people have of riding the slide release and stopping the pistol from locking back when empty.

Part fit perfectly. This smaller slide catch lever allows for a higher grip on the pistol. Highly recommend for anyone who gets annoyed with the slide on their Sig not staying open after the last round is fired due to “riding” your thumb on the lever.

Looks great. If you install yourself just insert an empty mag and you won't have to hold the bearing on the other side. G10 grips may need sanding if you're using for a legion build.

Fit well on my P226 Equnox.I do wish it had come in the bright finish ro match my pistol.Should help with me riding that controll. Haven't had it to the range yet.
