Wilson Combat's EDC X9 is an everyday carry, 1911 with match-grade accuracy, superior ergonomics, and concealability with modern service pistol capacity and reliability. It is a hybrid of Wilson's EDC 9 1911 slide assembly with a high-capacity X-frame. The slide assembly features ERS "Enhanced Reliability System". The ERS is tailored to the varying power level of 9mm ammunition and maintains impressive reliability in all conditions. Other features include a Tri-Top slide profile with user-replaceable front sight, rear tactical adjustable battlesight, single lug tapered cone match-grade barrel, and a rugged, user-serviceable external extractor. The screwless, X-frame is machined from T6-7075 aluminum and accepts a high capacity magazine with a grip that is smaller in circumference than a standard 1911 while retaining traditional 1911 controls. It uses hammer spring tension to keep the aggressive traction Wilson/VZ G-10 starburst pattern grips securely in place. The X-frame also features a small backstrap and medium trigger pad. The front and back strap are machined with the Wilson Combat X-Tac tread pattern which provides a tactile but nonabrasive grip. Included are two 15-round magazines.

Redefining the defensive handgun market, the Wilson Combat EDC X9 with Lightrail features all the ergonomics and controls of the 1911 mated to an aluminum high capacity X-Frame. Combining the accuracy, ergonomics and trigger pull of the classic 1911 design, with enhanced reliability, concealable, and high capacity performance. Similar in dimensions to the Glock 19, the EDC X9 features the X-Tac tread pattern on the front and backstrap for a comfortable, yet aggressive grip in all conditions.

The X-frame is a 15-round, high capacity 9mm 1911 frame that is similar in size to a traditional compact, single stack 1911. The screwless X-frame design uses hammer spring tension to keep the aggressive traction Wilson/VZ G-10 starburst pattern grips securely in place. Coupled with Wilson's new ERS (Enhanced Reliability System) which features a robust spring-loaded external extractor that improves extraction in all conditions with all types of ammunition; A match grade, fluted barrel with single lug geometry to reduce cycling friction, enhance slide velocity, and improve feed reliability; Removal of the frame rails around the mag opening to further reduce friction and promote function in adverse shooting environments. The EDC X9 features all the positive attributes of the 1911, with reduced maintenance and modern day high capacity.

This revolutionary unveiling of a new standard for Wilson Combat adorns an all-new innovative optic pin system that allows seamless transitions between RMR, RMSC, and DeltaPoint Pro footprints. An increased rear slide width and a relocation of the optic to the rear of the slide for unobstructed chamber access are ideal for SROs and longer red dots. A precision-cut ported slide seamlessly fits our integrated compensated barrel, engineered precisely for low recoil and quick target acquisition. Perfect ergonomics and function tailored for speed and accuracy.

Project 1 will ship with the cover plate removed, requiring only the installation of the correct optic pin set that matches the footprint of the desired optic to be mounted. Thus, eliminating the need for a "co-witness" setup, the red dot option will come standard with no front sight mounted and front sight plug installed, allowing for an easy, hassle-free setup and a clear, unobstructed optic view.

Also featuring our newly designed cover plate with dovetail rear sight and integrated firing pin stop. This unique design allows for a stronger iron sight platform that allows the user to transition from optics to iron sights without having to re-zero or drift the rear sight. The integrated firing pin stop gives the cover plate more integrity by creating a sturdy cover plate/iron sight platform that is movement-free, maintaining zero through removal and re-installation.

Project 1 is further enhanced with our Advanced "RPG" Guide Rod. This revolutionary design allows for a longer one-piece guide rod, which enhances reliability and ease of use. The reduced diameter allows the guide rod to tilt out of the slide assembly for easy removal and installation, allowing removal of the guide rod without removing the reverse plug. The longer shaft has shown increased recoil spring reliability and longevity and an all-around improvement in the firearm's function.

Project 1 comes standard with our integrated magwell, flat trigger, a PVD-coated barrel, and slide parts for enhanced durability, aggressive TRAK pattern front and back strap, and user-changeable TRAK pattern grip panels.

Our new 18-round base pad has precisely machined grooves on both sides of the extended pad to facilitate faster, smoother mag changes and gives the shooter a solid point of contact for removing the magazine during high-stress situations, training and competition settings.

Project 1 was tested with an all-new Dynamic Recoil Analysis System (DRAS), a state-of-the-art testing device designed to measure and analyze pistol recoil with unprecedented accuracy.

Unlike conventional recoil testing that relies on a single peak angle measurement, DRAS collects 2,000 pressure data points within a 350-millisecond window, capturing the entire recoil event in fine detail. By utilizing pneumatic cylinders in a push-pull configuration, the system achieves a free-floating state, enabling real-time suspension of the pistol to simulate true recoil dynamics.

This approach allows DRAS to generate a comprehensive recoil curve, which provides invaluable insights into how compensator barrels differ from standard barrels over the entire recoil cycle.

The result is a detailed graph that represents not just peak forces but the complete behavior of the pistol during recoil, offering a more accurate and in-depth understanding of performance characteristics.
